A peaceful base in East Iceland
Hótel Breiðdalsvík opened in 1983 as Hótel Bláfell and is today a warm, independently run hotel in the tiny town of Breiðdalsvík. Set between coastal mountains and black sand beaches on Iceland’s Ring Road, it is an easy home base for fjords, waterfalls, hiking and quiet fishing villages. Many guests find that two or three nights, or more, let them experience far more of the region.
Rooms, dining and wellness
The hotel has 37 comfortable rooms across two buildings, the main hotel and Hotel Post. Guests enjoy local fish, lamb and seasonal dishes at the Bláfell restaurant, relax in the lounge by the fireplace, and unwind in the outdoor spa, sauna and cold tub.
